Who We Are
Wood is the fastest way to make a room feel finished
Paint changes a color. Wood changes how a room sounds, how light moves across a wall and how the whole space reads when you walk in. It is the one material that adds warmth and structure at the same time, which is why a slat wall behind a bed or a paneled ceiling in a dining room transforms a space that new furniture could not fix.
Wooden Interiors Inc. works from 14710 NW 121st Terrace in Alachua, serving Gainesville, Alachua County and North Central Florida. We make and install interior wood surfaces: slat and acoustic walls, paneling and wainscot, beamed and clad ceilings, stair treads and cladding, feature walls, and the built in cabinetry and joinery that goes with them.
Everything is made in our own shop. That matters because it means the panel arriving at your wall was cut to your wall, not cut to a standard size and then trimmed on site with a caulk gun. It also means when something needs adjusting during install, the person adjusting it made it.

We visit, measure the space, check walls for square and talk openly about species, finish and budget before drawing anything.
Design
Elevations and a 3D view showing reveal spacing, panel layout and how the detail meets the ceiling, floor and any outlets.
Shop Build
Milled, assembled, sanded and finished in our shop, where dust and humidity are controlled and the finish cures properly.
Install
Delivered and fitted by our crew, scribed to your real walls, with floors protected and the site cleaned each day.

Questions
What clients ask first
Do you charge for drawings?
The consultation, measurement and a budget range are free. For larger or more complex projects a design retainer may apply, and it is credited in full toward the project when you proceed.
Solid wood or veneer, which should I choose?
It depends on the surface. For slat walls and large paneled areas, quality veneer over a stable core is often the better choice, since it stays flat and costs considerably less. For anything you touch daily, like a handrail, a stair tread or a countertop edge, solid wood earns its price. We will tell you which applies rather than defaulting to the expensive answer.
How long does a project take?
A single feature wall runs three to five weeks from approved drawings. A full room is five to eight. Multi room and commercial work runs eight to sixteen. Most of that time is material lead time and finish curing, not installation.
Can you work around outlets, vents and switches?
Yes, and it is one of the details that separates good slat and panel work from bad. We plan reveal positions around outlets during design so nothing lands awkwardly, and we cut cleanly rather than notching on site.
Will wood hold up in Florida humidity?
It does when it is handled correctly. Our material is kiln dried and acclimated in the shop before it is cut, panels are built to allow seasonal movement, and finishes are selected for this climate. See our warranty and care page.
Do you work with designers and builders?
Constantly, and it usually goes smoothly. We build from plan sets, produce shop drawings for approval and coordinate directly with your design team and general contractor.
